No Gossip for 30 Rock
Planned guest appearances have been called off.

30 Rock has a lot of notable guest stars coming -- including Jennifer Aniston and Oprah Winfrey -- but for now at least, it looks like Gossip Girl's Blake Lively and Leighton Meester won't be among them.

EW.com's Michael Ausiello, who first reported that the duo would be appearing on the Emmy winning NBC comedy, now says it's not happening.

Ausiello says a 30 Rock insider tells him the guest appearance by the Gossip gals has been called off due to "logistical reasons" – no more details are given, though it's certainly possible that scheduling the two actresses wasn't possible due to their commitments on Gossip Girl. Lively and Meester were going to play high school classmates to Tina Fey's Liz Lemon, in a flashback sequence.

Meester Stands Against Domestic Violence
"Gossip Girl" star Leighton Meester took to the red carpet in New York on Thursday to take a stand against domestic violence.

The actress hopes to raise awareness of the abuse women suffer at the hands of a violent partner, and spoke out in support of the 15th annual Shop 'Til It Stops campaign, which raises funds for the cause through retail sales.

And Meester insists she was moved to take part in the drive, because the topic can affect everyone.

She tells People.com, ""I think it's an issue that everyone can take part in because it applies to everyone. You can be a victim or someone you love can be a victim. The more people are aware, the more it can be prevented.

She adds, "You can be a victim or someone you love can be a victim. The more people are aware, the more it can be prevented."

'Gossip Girl' Stars Leighton Meester Parlay TV Success Into Music Careers
When they're not out on the town, becoming fodder for New York's real-life gossip rags, most of the "Gossip Girl" castmembers have been honing their acting chops in movies. But stars Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick — a.k.a. on-again, off-again item Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass — are taking a stab at music careers. It's a road frequently taken by up-and-coming actors, but these two seem to be attempting a fresh approach.

Meester, 22, is currently working on an album she recently described as "a good mixture of hip-hop-sounding, very vibe-y music." Of course, MTV News tried to speak to Meester herself, but her rep thought it was too soon for interviews about her new project, which they hope to release next year. This actually isn't the actress' first foray into singing: She sang the growly rock track "Inside the Black" for the 2007 teen horror flick "Drive Thru" (which also featured "GG" star Penn Badgley). And Meester already seems savvy to the music business. Instead of going with a record label, she's opted for a production-company deal that will allow her more "creative freedom," her rep tells MTV News.

"I've always done [music]," Meester told "Access Hollywood." "It's so cool because it's a completely different creative process."

'I couldn’t be happier about being famous'
While many celebrities complain about the downsides of fame, Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester couldn’t be happier about life in the limelight.

She told OK magazine recently: “It’s changed everything for the better. It’s different, but I’m happy. This is the best life that I could ask for, and it’s more than I thought it could be.

“I remember looking through magazines or watching movies even just a couple of years ago and being like, ‘I really want to be part of that,’ but not realizing what that was.

“I didn’t understand it and now this is my life and it’s so funny! I couldn’t be happier.”

LEIGHTON MEESTER : Mom not writing a memoir
Earlier this month, it was rumored that Leighton Meester’s mom, Connie, was penning a tell-all memoir involving her Gossip Girl star daughter.

The 22-year-old actress shot down those rumors earlier this week, telling Life & Style, “The only thing that I would like to clear up is that my mom is not writing a memoir. My mom is a writer, but she’s not writing a memoir. She would never write a tell-all about me or my life, or even include me at all.”

Leighton thinks she and her mom have a great relationship: “She’s always there for me no matter what. I had a really good upbringing.”

What did you think of the latest 'Gossip Girl' episode? I think Leighton was fantastic, especially in the scene in which Vanessa visits Blair but I don't really like where they're going with the storyline.
